Description
I was almost finished with this painting when war broke out between Russia and Ukraine. It was winter, and I found myself yearning for the warmth of spring and summer, free from the constraints of the pandemic. I envisioned the pleasures of life – lush green nature, the feeling of warm sunshine on my skin, the taste of delicious food and wine in good company. That was the original concept of the painting.
Upon completion, I gazed at the sky I had painted, and noticed that I had intuitively used the colors yellow, red, and blue. As I continued to look, I realized that the clouds resembled different countries, a powerful reminder of how environmental factors can unconsciously influence one’s work.
In light of recent events, I find myself hoping that the joy and happiness of the good life depicted in this painting can be experienced by all people worldwide.
